Acne is developed when oily substance (called sebum has a role to lubricate the skin and hair) and dead skin cells plugs hair follicles. The bacteria in the plug causes swelling and a pimple grows when a plug starts breakdown. Bacteria also causes infection which leads to more acne. (4) (5)
What Are The Causes Of Acne?
During puberty, the changes occur with the body are regulated by the hormone named androgen which is a male sex hormone and androgen also regulates the hormones in the female body. One of the things it does in puberty, it increases the production of oil in the body.
The oil named is sebum which is produced in the sebaceous glands. Whenever dead skin cells on the body block the pore of sebum, then it starts building up in the sebaceous gland and blackheads and whiteheads develop. If this gets inflamed then it converts its form into a pimple. Our body has more oil glands in the area of shoulders, face, chest, forehead and back.
The production of sebum reduces at the age of 20. And the acne issue automatically comes to its end.
